For many years I operated a traditional darkroom in my garage,
printing black and white enlargements. Later, when I began to travel widely, I took thousands of film images, slides,
and digital photos in all parts of the world. In the last year I have been creating
digital prints, printed with archival pigment ink.
Subjects range from close up photos
of plants to images of people in exotic locations. The images are presented in a straightforward manner, with a minimum
of software alterations. I like all my images to have some story to tell, sometimes obvious but usually subtle or subliminal.
I am currently exhibiting my work in the Alameda Art Association gallery in the Towne Centre
at 2242 South Shore Centre, Alameda. I usually have photographs on display in the Marin Society of Artists gallery
at 30 Sir Frances Drake Blvd, Ross, Ca., and I have work available for rent in their rental gallery. I show
my work with the Oakland Art Association, and I am an active member of the Berkeley Camera Club.
I have received numerous awards with these organizations, and a second place award at the N4C (Northern California Council
of Camera Clubs). I was invited to participate in the 2011 Alameda on Camera event , and exhibited three
photographs from the event in the Frank Bette Gallery in Alameda.
